A 16-oz Grande costs $4.95.
The way the Frappuccino is layered, you get different levels of strawberry flavor. With the white part that makes up the bulk of the Frappuccino, you get a sweet, mostly creamy, lightly tart profile. There may be a very slight hint of floral notes but in a way that I wouldn't notice it unless somewone asked me about it.
The layers of puree offer a strong and moderately sweet note of strawberry. It doesn't feel as sticky or thick as your typical strawberry syrup or sauce.
Between the two components, there's more of a strawberries and cream-like quality rather than a strawberry ice cream-like quality. It also makes me think of the strawberry and fluffy whipped cream filling that's popular in Asian-style birthday cakes (and Japanese-style Christmas cakes).
Overall, Starbucks' Serious Strawberry Frappuccino turned out quite well. I like that it's not nearly as sweet as some of their more indulgent Frappuccinos and that it's generally mellow but still strong enough in the strawberry department.
