Dunkin' Donuts' Donut Fries feature long pieces of buttery croissant-style donut dough fried and tossed in cinnamon-sugar.
I paid
$2.19 for an order of five Donut Fries.
These are toasted and then tossed in a tub of cinnamon-sugar when you order them.
Texture-wise, they're very close to yeast donuts with a soft outer shell (sorry, if you were hoping for something crispy like a fry or churro). They're soft and pillowy inside with some airy layers due to the croissant-style dough. They're not particularly buttery though.
As far as taste goes, they taste pretty much the same as a regular cinnamon-sugar donut, which is to say there's a nice cinnamon flavor and a balanced dose of sweetness.
Overall, Dunkin' Donuts' Donut Fries turned out tasty enough but beyond the novelty of the shape and the fact that they're served warm, they're not much different from regular yeast donuts.
