The meatball were a little on the firm side; probably from a lack of fat or possibly breadcrumbs. They're meaty with just a light seasoning to them.
The sauce was sweet and tomato-y with a heat that built up slowly and lingered on the tongue. The harissa is described on the box as having a "bold flavor from roasted red peppers and hot chili peppers, accompanied by exotic spices like coriander and cumin." I didn't couldn't pick out much in the way of exotic spices or peppers though; it just felt like a spicy spaghetti sauce. It had a fairly nice, thick consistency though.
The rice looked nice and colorful but both the rice and the accompanying veggies were pretty flavorless. The rice wasn't fluffy or sticky but was somewhat firm instead. The only thing that stood out were the chick peas, which added a bit of earthiness.
At the end of the day, Lean Cuisine's Sweet & Spicy Harissa Meatballs just ended up feeling like meatballs with a spicy marinara sauce but over rice rather than pasta.
