Del Taco Expands Beyond Meat Test to San Diego

Del Taco broadens the reach of their test of vegetarian Beyond Tacos to San Diego, CA where they can be found at 16 locations.

The crunchy tacos feature Beyond Meat, a plant-based meat substitute, in place of the chain's usual seasoned ground beef or turkey. Like Del Taco's regular tacos, Beyond Tacos also include grated cheddar (or sliced avocado if you're eating vegan), shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes.

At the restaurants where it's offered, Beyond Meat can also be substituted in place of the chain's other protein options in a number of menu items.

Beyond Tacos were originally tested in the Los Angeles area (where they continue to be offered at five locations) and did well enough to merit expanded testing. If the San Diego test goes well, Del Taco plans to expand the test further.
