Review: Burger King - Triple Stacker King

Burger King's Triple Stacker King features three flame-grilled quarter-pound beef patties, thick-cut bacon, American cheese, and special Stacker sauce on a toasted sesame seed bun.

Originally, I was going to review a Single Stacker King but there was a 3-cent Triple Stacker King coupon in their mobile app that I couldn't pass up. The Single Stacker King is $5.99 at my local Burger King, while the Triple Stacker King is normally $7.99 (i.e. it's a buck more per added burger patty and extra cheese).

The burger looks pretty normal-sized in the photos but it, like the rest of the King line, is the same width as a Whopper.

Stacker sauce tastes like a mayo-based sweet relish sauce, which is to say it's fairly sweet and somewhat tangy. I only say this because I dabbed my finger in a bit of it as I could hardly taste it at all over the beef, cheese, and bacon that excessively made up much of the burger.

The beef was actually pretty juicy on this run-through, although it's missing that smoky char that I always hope for when someone says, "flame-grilled." There appeared to be two slices of American cheese per beef patty and that ensured full gooey, cheesy coverage from end to end.

The bacon was more than I can ever remember getting on any Burger King burgers. It looked like they just grabbed a handful and plopped it on top of the meat-and-cheese stack.

When it comes down to it, Burger King's Triple Stacker King is great if you want all the beef, cheese, and bacon you can handle (unless you typically eat more than a pound of food per meal) as it's not much more than that. I like all of the above but this was a bit much for me. I would be fairly stuffed on just half and felt the meat fatigue set in after eating a quarter. I recommend the Double Stacker King if you still want that meaty, beefy abundance but don't want to risk going into a meat coma. Or, the Single Stacker King if you actually want to get a good taste of the Stacker sauce. The Triple Stacker King is probably the best value of the three though (not because I paid 3 cents for it but because each patty and two slices of cheese is normally $1 more).
