Review: Jack in the Box - Spicy Chicken Strips

Jack in the Box's Spicy Chicken Strips feature "big, crispy, juicy 100% all-white meat chicken strips with an irresistible kick."

I bought three strips for $3.49 (you can also get them as part of a combo along with fries and a drink for $4.99).

These were notably plumper and longer than Jack's regular Crispy Chicken Strips I recently had and, according to the nutritional info they put out, three Spicy Chicken Strips (213g) actually weigh more than four of the regular ones (195g).

The Spicy Chicken Strips were juicy and meaty inside due to the extra plumpness. On the outside, they were crunchier with more crags and crannies than the regular version. The breading was fairly thick, but not so thick that I felt like I had to work through it to get to the meat inside.

There's a noticeable red hue to the batter and the spicy heat was definitely there and then some. It was enough to get my nose running. Beyond the heat (and to some extent because of it), the Spicy Chicken Strips punched it up in the flavor department and went well with ranch dressing (which also helped a little with the burn).

Overall, Jack in the Box's Spicy Chicken Strips turned out really well. They were crunchy, juicy, and flavorful with a strong dose of heat. Combined with the fair price, I can see why they were sold out the first time I tried to get them.
