KFC's Cinnabon Dessert Biscuit is a KFC biscuit topped with Cinnabon cinnamon brown sugar glaze and cream cheese frosting.
I paid
$1 for one (you can also get four for $3).
The Cinnamon Dessert Biscuit was mostly sweet with a bit of savory.
I got a sticky, thin layer of sweet cinnamon and sugar with some sweet and creamy notes from the cheese. That biscuit was pretty thick but there was just enough of glaze and frosting to feel like dessert.
The biscuit itself had a nice, hardened crust on top and was soft, dense, and fluffy inside but was a little dry on this go-around. Thankfully, the glaze and frosting provided the necessary moisture. There was a slightly salty, buttery quality to the biscuit which goes interestingly well with the Cinnabon glaze and frosting. The combination might be a little too rich or weird for some though.
I actually ended up liking KFC's Cinnabon Dessert Biscuit more than an actual Cinnabon cinnamon roll (which I find to be too sweet and soft). I preferred the more moderate amount of sweetness from the cinnamon-sugar and cream cheese as well as the varied texture of the KFC biscuit. Also, it's a good deal cheaper and doesn't sit as heavily in my stomach.
