IHOP Stacks a Pancake Inside of New Burger

In an odd sort of marketing campaign, IHOP is referring (in a tongue-in-cheek manner) to their Ultimate Steakburgers as "pancakes" and rounds out their "pancake" (burger) rotation with three new burgers, including "The Big IHOP "Pancake," a burger with an actual pancake in it.

The Big IHOP Pancake Burger features a buttermilk pancake griddled with cheddar cheese sandwiched between two USDA choice, Black Angus beef Steakburger patties and served along with American cheese, hickory-smoked bacon, and house-made IHOP sauce on a toasted bun.

Also new are the Garlic Butter Steakburger (err... pancake) and Loaded Philly Steakburger.

The Garlic Butter Pancake (Steakburger) features a Steakburger patty, house-made Gilroy garlic butter, hickory-smoked bacon, White Cheddar cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo on a toasted bun.

The Loaded Philly Pancake (Steakburger) takes a Steakburger patty and tops it with sauteed onions and peppers, melted White Cheddar cheese, and Cheddar cheese sauce on a toasted bun.

The temporary burger rename comes in response to fan's who felt that IHOP should "stay in its lane" when the pancake diner chain temporarily changed its name to IHOb (International House of Burgers) to promote the launch of new Steakburgers last year. According to the chain, the new Steakburgers are quite successful. Steakburgers initially sold four times better than the previous burgers and currently sell twice as much as the previous burgers.

For a limited time, IHOP's Steakburgers will come with unlimited fries with prices starting at $6.99.

The three new burgers are available for a limited time only at participating restaurants.
