Krispy Kreme Introduces New Original Filled Donut

Krispy Kreme introduces a new take on their signature Original Glazed Donut with the debut of the new Original Filled Donut. The new donut (which they're calling an "out-of-this-world innovation") celebrates the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

A permanent menu item, the new donut takes the Original Glazed Donut and adds one of two fillings: Classic Kreme and Chocolate Kreme.

If you're more of a try-before-you-buy type (or just like free things), Krispy Kreme will be giving out free Original Filled Donuts on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at participating locations nationwide. You can find a list of participating locations on the Krispy Kreme website here.

Krispy Kreme has proven fairly amenable to adding new twists to the Original Glazed Donut in recent years. They've offered different flavors of dough, such as pumpkin spice and confetti, as well as new glazes, such as lemon and coffee. With new fillings now in the picture, it's more a question of when and not if they'll start putting out other filling varieties.
