Starbucks Launches New Pairings Coffee Blends for Home Brewing

Starbucks releases new Starbucks Pairings coffee blends for at-home brewing. The new coffee blends are so-named because they're supposed to pair well with certain foods.

There are three new medium roast blends in all:

- The Sweet Mornings Blend supposedly goes well with pastries, yogurt, cereal, and other sweet breakfast items. According to the brand, it offers hints of "dusted cocoa and dried fruit."

- The Savory Mornings Blend is meant to pair well with omelets, bacon, avocado toast, and other savory dishes. It is described as "smooth with hints of fresh herbs."

- The Dessert Blend is made to complement chocolate, cheesecake, fruit pies, and other desserts. It offers "notes of candied ginger and orange zest."

From the sound of it, Sweet Mornings seems to go well with slightly sweet foods, Savory Mornings goes well with savory foods, and Dessert goes well with really sweet foods.

The three new blends were created with help of chefs from The Culinary Institute of America.

Starbucks Pairings are available both as ground coffee and in K-Cups.
