They're selling them at six for $3 or in a $3 Mini Munchies Variety pack that includes seasoned curly fries, three mozzarella sticks, and onion rings. I went with the Variety pack.
In my experience, mozzarella sticks are usually breaded rather than battered, which makes Jack in the Box's version somewhat of a novelty. The crust is rather thick and somewhat smooth with a nice crunch to it but not much flavor. The neutral taste and sturdy crust holds up well for dipping.
Inside the mozzarella lacks in both taste and texture. It didn't really melt very well and lacked the desirable chewy stretchy quality.
Overall, Jack in the Box's Mozzarella were just okay for me. I liked the crunchiness of the crust and the Variety pack pricing is pretty nice but the cheese was lackluster. Still, there aren't that many of Jack's competitors offering mozzarella sticks (just Arby's and Sonic come to mind). As for the rest of the pack, my fries seemed like they had been sitting out for a while but the onion rings were really nice.
