I paid $6.29 for one.
They kept it pretty simple with the Bacon BBQ Burger but added some newness with the bourbon BBQ sauce, which had a distinct bourbon flavor as well a substantial amount of sweetness and lesser touches of tanginess, salt, and smoke.
The onion strings seem to be the same as they used in previous limited-time sandwiches, including the Signature Crafted Mushroom & Swiss. They delivered a nice crunch and seasoned flavor but there might be a little too much breading as it sometimes overwhelmed the underlying onion in both taste and texture.
The bun was dense and soft. It's a little richer than the standard bun but with less give to it.
Everything fit pretty well together with a tried-and-true combination. However, my local McDonald's has been hit-or-miss with the cooked-to-order quarter-pound beef patty. It's either been piping hot or lukewarm. This time around, the burger patty was moist and sported some notable charring but was also barely warm. For over $6, I expect a hot burger--especially as I was dining in.
