I got one of each variety for $1 each (they're cheaper than a regular crunchy taco, which costs $1.59 in my area). The Nacho Crunch adds a layer of red tortilla strips while the Chipotle Cheddar comes with Creamy Chipotle sauce and the Reaper Ranch comes with Reaper Ranch sauce.
All three varieties give you the classic taste and textures of a Taco Bell crunchy taco and aren't too different from the discontinued Double Decker Taco. The soft flour tortilla serves both as added texture and an extra layer of mess protection in case the crunchy taco shell cracks.
The Creamy Chipotle sauce gave the Chipotle Cheddar Double Stacked Taco an added smoky, creamy, and tangy dimension but also muted some of that signature seasoned beef flavor.
Finally, the Reaper Ranch offers a strong dose of spicy heat and ranch flavor that goes quite well with the crunchy taco (it was more complementary to the seasoned beef than the Creamy Chipotle).
Overall, the 2020 line-up of Taco Bell's $1 Double Stacked Tacos turned out pretty well. They're a little less cheesy than before but still represent a great value for a buck each (given that the national price of a crunchy taco alone is $1.29). As long as you can handle the heat, I recommend the Reaper Ranch as providing the best flavor of the three.
