The suggested retail price for an 8.5 oz. bag is $3.79, but I got this courtesy of Kettle Brand.
The potato chips are thick-cut, as is common for the kettle-cooked style, and offer a substantial crunch and heartier texture. Some chips feature a nice air bubble, which provides a best-of-both-world scenario where I got a bit of that airy crispness of a classic potato chip with the big kettle crunch.
Kettle Brand does not specify that the Farmstand Ranch seasoning is supposed to mimic buttermilk ranch dressing, but that's what came to mind when I first tasted the chip. There's a noticeable tang to the seasoning that hits the palate first before it smooths into the creamy mid-note. A glance at the ingredients list informed me that this tang probably comes from the vinegar, but it hit that requisite buttermilk profile for me. It was tangy enough without being overwhelming, and actually tasted more like ranch dressing than typical ranch-flavored snacks.
Overall, I enjoyed Kettle Brand's Farmstand Ranch Potato Chips. They're a solid option to satisfy a ranch chip craving and offer a hearty crunch and nice potato flavor. The fact that the seasoning is less explosive in flavor lends itself much more easily to overeating, though (at least it does in my case).
