A small order was $1.49.
These turned out really well. They were crispy and moderately seasoned on the outside, while moist and potato-y inside. They're cut into elongated half-moon slices.
The crust is paper-thin but with a delicate crunch that didn't fade even when the potatoes were cool. With a greater amount of potato inside, they take longer to dry out than the chain's French fries.
The seasoning offered a strong black pepper flavor (black pepper and maple seem to figure quite a bit into the new breakfast menu) with notes of garlic and onion and just the right amount of salt (they appear to be pre-seasoned so they should be fairly consistent compared to most French fries). I very much enjoyed the seasoning blend that they went with.
Back when I tried this during testing (all the way back in 2012), they were called "Seasoned Home-Style Potatoes." They stilled looked and felt the same but weren't as peppery as they are now (not that I mind).
