El Pollo Loco Adds Vegan Taco and Burrito Options

El Pollo Loco adds vegan versions of their Chickenless Pollo Taco and Burrito that you can order by request at all locations chain-wide.

According to El Pollo Loco they reformulated their plant-based Chickenless Pollo so that it's now certified vegan by the American Vegetarian Association. Chickenless Pollo "blends traditional Mexican flavors in an adobo sauce with a non-GMO soy protein base." It previously contained egg enzymes, which have been removed to make the chicken alternative suitable for a vegan diet.

You can now "Make It Vegan" when ordering a Chickenless Pollo Taco or Burrito. The option removes the cheese in the taco and the cheese and Creamy Cilantro Dressing in the burrito.
