Paqui brings back the One Chip Challenge and updates the recipe for their "world's hottest chip," which you can find in stores in one-chip packages.
The tortilla chip, which is pitch black features heat from the Carolina Reaper pepper gets an update this year with the addition of scorpion peppers and Sichuan peppercorns (which adds a numbing sensation in your mouth).
You can find the Paqui One Chip Challenge at participating retailers nationwide, including 7-Eleven and Kroger, and online at Paqui.com, while supplies last. The one chip carries a suggested price of $6.99.
It's called the One Chip Challenge because the idea is that you eat or take a bite or nibble of the chip and record how long you can last without eating or drinking something to help deal with the heat. Then you post it to social media with #OneChipChallenge for notoriety. Note that the chip comes with a warning to either wear gloves or wash your hands with soap immediately after handling the chip and to keep it out of reach of children.
