Boston Market's Beef Pot Roast frozen meal features "slow-simmered beef prime rib roast" with "steamed vegetables and signature, homestyle mashed potatoes and gravy."
A 15-oz box was
$2 on sale ($3.99 regular price).
At almost a pound, this was a fairly hefty meal that somehow only amounted to 340 calories for the entire package. Despite the rather low calorie count, the mashed potatoes were fairly dense, smooth, and creamy enough.
The beef was tender and meaty with a lightly seasoned flavor, while the vegetables were carrots and green beans that maintained enough texture so that they weren't mushy but were still soft.
The gravy was a bit too tomato-y for the mashed potatoes and gave the meat and vegetables more of a meatloaf-type feel. While it's not unusual for a pot roast to have a bit of a tang, they pushed it just a smidge too far for my preference here.
Still, taken altogether, Boston Market's Beef Pot Roast frozen meal was still pretty good and quite filling. My only complaint is that the gravy is a bit too tangy but that's more a matter of taste rather than execution.
