El Pollo Loco returns a familiar selection of tamales, tamale bowls, and more for their 2020 holiday menu.
For a limited time, El Pollo Loco offers Red Chile Tamales a la carte or as part of a tamale bowl. Tamale Bowls come in several varieties:
- Double Tamale Bowl - Two chicken tamales topped with enchilada sauce, queso fresco, cilantro, and avocado slices, served over a bed of rice and pinto beans.
- Crispy Tamale and Tinga Bowl - A crispy-fried chicken tamale served with chicken tinga, sour cream, avocado slices, rice, and pinto beans.
- Double Loaded Queso Tamale Bowl - A chicken tamale, chopped flame-grilled chicken breast, guacamole, rice, pinto beans, and pico de gallo, topped with queso blanco.
Also back on this year's holiday menu are Chicken Pozole Verde and Mexican Hot Chocolate.
Chicken Pozole Verde features flame-grilled chicken and hominy, simmered in a tomatillo broth with garlic, onion, and chile.
Mexican Hot Chocolate consists of Abuelita chocolate, spiced with a touch of cinnamon and vanilla, topped with whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon-sugar.
