Ben & Jerry's teams up with football player and social activist Colin Kaepernick for the upcoming launch of new Change the Whirled non-dairy frozen dessert.
The vegan flavor (Kaepernick follows a vegan diet--on a side note, why is a person called a "vegan" and not a "veganarian" or "veganvore") features a caramel sunflower butter base with fudge chips, graham cracker swirls, and chocolate cookie swirls.
Kaepernick's portion of the proceeds from sales of new non-dairy frozen dessert flavor will go to benefit the Know Your Rights Camp, a non-profit that Kaepernick founded to "advanc[e] the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders."
You can find Change the Whirled as a permanent flavor at Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops and at retailers nationwide starting in 2021 for a suggested price of $4.99 to $5.49 per pint. The flavor will also be released in in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
