McDonald's Offers Chocolate Salami in Italy

McDonald's adds new chocolate salami to the McCafe menu over in Italy but it's actually not salami or meat at all. Instead, it's a dessert that looks like salami.

Chocolate salami is a Portuguese and Italian dessert made with chocolate or cocoa, butter and/or eggs, and broken cookie pieces. It's shaped into a roll and resembles salami quite a bit when sliced to serve (especially it's dusted with powdered sugar on the outside).

Unfortunately, it looks like chocolate salami as well as a number of other menu items are listed as "temporarily unavailable" at McDonald's (likely due to the pandemic).
