It was $6.89 at my local Habit.
The rye was nice and crunchy but not dry. It didn't overdo it with the caraway seeds but still tasted like rye bread.
They stuck a toothpick through each half of the sandwich, which seemed unnecessary since the cheese in the melt pretty much glued it together and it wasn't a particularly tall sandwich.
The beef was nicely seared and flavorful with a bit of charred notes that came through to tell me it was cooked with fire. The caramelized onions added a complementary flavor as well as some sweetness.
The cheeses were thoroughly melted and mild in flavor.
The Thousand Island sauce contributed a savory richness with light touches of sweet and tang.
Overall, The Habit's Patty Melt turned out really well all around. It packed a really nice combination of flavors and provided the requisite textures of a melt (crunchy bread, oozy cheese, etc.).
