Review: Krispy Kreme - Key Lime Glazed Donuts

Krispy Kreme's Key Lime Glazed Donuts feature the chain's signature Original Glazed Donuts covered in a key lime-flavored glaze.

They're $14.49 in my area but I received these courtesy of Krispy Kreme.

The glaze on my donuts had green-yellow hue of the type that tends to give me pause when considering eating. They tasted fine though with a sweet and tangy key lime flavor that hit a pretty nice balance between the two while delivering the distinctive flavor of key lime.

Underneath the glaze, the donut offered the same airy, cloud-like crumb with just a slightest chew that Krispy Kreme is known for.

Taken altogether, Krispy Kreme's Key Lime Glazed Donut might have been the least visually appealing of their flavored Original Glazed Donuts that I've seen so far but the taste hits just right if you like key lime. They were first introduced along with Strawberry and Lemon Glazed Donuts last year. Since they brought back Strawberry Glazed Donuts at the tail end of April, it's likely that Lemon Glazed Donuts might come back for the end of June.
