Candwiches come in a can that's about the same dimensions as a 12-oz soda can (to readily fit in soft drink vending machines) and include separate packets of peanut butter and jelly, pre-sliced bread, a wooden spreader, and a wet nap.
The concept seems to be to provide a convenient meal option for when you forget to pack a lunch or are too busy to take lunch. Additionally, the can can be taken and stored conveniently as a back-up food option (the sandwich components have a shelf life of up to 12 months).
They currently come in peanut butter and grape jelly and peanut butter and strawberry jelly varieties but the brand plans to offer pizza pockets, honey barbecue chicken, desserts, and more in the future.
Besides vending machines, Candwiches are available for purchase on the Candwich online store, where they're sold in 6-packs for $16.99, including US shipping.
If the name sounds familiar, Candwiches were once offered at Walmart back in 2012 but were discontinued due to business issues with an investor. They have updated the product and packaging for this re-launch.
