An 11-oz box was $2.50 on sale.
The vegetables included red potatoes, carrots, and onion. There were also bits of celery in the gravy. All the vegetables managed to retain a slight firmness so that they weren't overly soft or mushy. Additionally, they retained their distinctive flavors, particularly the celery, which could be good or bad depending on your take on celery.
The beef was tender while retaining a slight chew to it. It's not abundant but it was enough.
There was a nice, savory flavor throughout from a smooth, slightly thickened gravy that was accented with a notable touch of black pepper.
When it comes down to it, Marie Callender's Pot Roast Bowl turned out really nicely. It tracks as a slightly healthier version of pot roast, as it lacked a bit in richness, but the textures and flavors worked out well.
