The bread is called, "Hero Bread," and is meant to offer the same taste as regular Subway bread but contains one gram net carbs, 0 grams of sugar, 12 grams of protein, 26 grams of fiber and 100 calories per 6-inch sub roll. In comparison, Subway's Artisan Italian sub roll contains 34 grams net carbs, 2 grams of sugar, 7 grams of protein, 0 grams of fiber, and 160 calories.
To promote the new bread option test, Subway tapped football player (and Hero Labs investor) Tom Brady to star in a clip shared on the brand's various social media channels.
The current test is slated to run through mid-December 2021. If low-carb Hero Bread is something that interests you, Subway is asking fans to vote on where to test the bread next at hero.co/vote.
