I paid $4.49 for the sandwich and asked for an extra container of Hottie Sauce just in case. A regular or Spicy Chicken Sandwich costs $3.99.
The sauce came applied to the bun in the same manner as the mayo and spicy mayo, rather than having the fried chicken filet tossed in the sauce. There was a sparing amount of sauce--just enough for the flavor in most bites and to give a sweet and spicy quality to the lightly crispy chicken and crunchy pickles.
In the sandwich, Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce was good for a sweet and spicy, slightly tangy flavor that's similar to many a sauce that promises "sweet heat." It was mildly spicy with a honeyed sweetness. However, as I did grab an extra container of Hottie Sauce, I also tried it by itself.
On its own, Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce offered a honeyed sweetness up front, a slight bit of fruitiness (from the peppers?), and a burst of moderate but short-lived heat at the tail end. It's a little bit like spicy, liquid candy if you're eating some by itself.
I've ordered Popeyes' Chicken Sandwich a number of times at this point, and this particular sandwich was the largest by far. There looked to be two thick pieces of chicken in my sandwich and they were enough to cover a fairly large bun. The squishiness of the bun proved its worth as it cradled the chicken in place every time I bit into the sandwich. The chicken was mostly moist but slightly dry in some bites. It's a ridiculous value for the amount of chicken I got though (I'm pretty sure this particular sandwich was the biggest fast food chicken sandwich I've ever had).
Overall, Popeyes' Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce Chicken Sandwich was really enjoyable. The sauce offers a notably different flavor than the mayo and spicy mayo of the regular menu versions of the sandwich, and the sandwich itself turned out really well on this visit.
