I went and bought one for $5.79.
My Spicy Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito weighed in at a fairly hefty 12.7 oz (360g) but was a bit flattened by the grill. There was thin a layer of melted cheese on top but it could have used just a little more browning (and cheese) for some extra flavor. There were three jalapeno slices on top and they added a nice punch of spicy heat when I came across them without throwing in too much of a sour bite.
The steak wasn't plentiful but was well distributed so that I got some in most bites. There was a mild, seasoned flavor to the steak. It was tender and moist but lacked the meaty texture you'd typically get with steak. That being said, at $5 or $6, I'm not sure any major fast food chain is offering any sort of steak that isn't chopped or shaved.
For all the cheese involved, the flavors that mostly stuck out in the burrito was the sour cream, seasoned rice, and steak. The cheese mostly just melded in with everything else, while the Creamy Chipotle sauce was good for an occasional smoky heat.
The crunchy tortilla strips were mostly not crunchy, as they steamed and soaked up the various liquids, but managed a weak crunch here and there.
Overall, Taco Bell’s Spicy Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito was nice enough if not overly familiar and doesn't have the same value angle that most limited-time items at Taco Bell sport. I do like the grilled cheese layer but I'd rather get a regular Grilled Cheese Burrito with extra seasoned beef for $3.89 as the beef has a more enjoyable, bolder flavor and I'm generally not looking for steak at Taco Bell.
