Tamales and More Return to El Pollo Loco for 2021 Holiday Season

Tamales return to the El Pollo Loco menu for a limited time for the 2021 holiday season and are joined by a few other dishes as well.

Besides being available for purchase on their own, El Pollo Loco's tamales are featured in a line of Holiday Tamale Bowls. The selection includes:

- Double Tamale Avocado Bowl - Two handmade chicken tamales served over a bed of rice and beans, topped with enchilada sauce, cotija cheese, avocado, and cilantro.  

- Tamale & Taco Bowl - A chicken tamale topped with enchilada sauce, cotija cheese, and cilantro, served with a chicken taco al carbon on a bed of rice and beans.  

- Tamale & Two-Piece Chicken - A chicken tamale topped with enchilada sauce, cotija cheese, and cilantro, served with a flame-grilled chicken leg and chicken thigh on a bed of rice and beans.

Also here for the 2021 holiday season are:

- Holiday Familia Dinner - 10 pieces of the chain's citrus-marinated, flame-grilled chicken, two large sides, and warm tortillas for $20.  

- Chicken Pozole Verde - Chicken and hominy slow-simmered in a savory broth of tomatillo, garlic, onion, and chiles.  

- Mexican Hot Chocolate - Abuelita hot chocolate spiced with cinnamon and vanilla, topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar.  

You can find the 2021 holiday menu for a limited time at participating locations chain-wide through December 26, 2021.
