They're calling it the "new and improved" Hot-N-Ready Classic Pepperoni Pizza but there doesn't seem to be any other changes beyond the extra pepperoni.
By my count, the previous Hot-N-Ready Pepperoni Pizza had about 30 pepperoni slices on it so the "new and improved" version should have about 40 pepperoni slices. In comparison, the ExtraMostBestest Pepperoni Pizza (which is typically $1 more) has 80 percent more pepperoni than the previous version, which comes out to about 54 pepperoni slices.
Little Caesars is also offering a limited-time Classic Pepperoni Meal Deal for $9.99, which includes a Classic Pepperoni Pizza, a Crazy Combo (an order of Crazy Bread and Crazy Sauce), and a 2-liter bottle of soda.
According to the fine print, the $5.55 price is a limited-time offer (which gives some cover if costs rise dramatically in the near future) at participating locations and is higher in Alaska, Hawaii, and California (the Hot-N-Ready Classic Pepperoni Pizza has already been $5.55 for some time here in California but hasn't gone up in price at my local Little Caesars so far). Little Caesars first introduced their $5 Hot-N-Ready Pizza concept in 1997 and it was popular enough to merit a national launch in 2004 so it's pretty crazy they've been able to maintain the $5 pricing up until now.
