KFC Beyond Fried Chicken was developed by Beyond Meat exclusively for KFC with pea protein as a base. It's meant to offer the same flavor and feel as KFC's signature fried chicken but without the chicken. While Beyond Fried Chicken is a plant-based product, it's specifically "not prepared in vegan/vegetarian manner" according to the KFC (which probably points to using a shared fryer with the chain's fried chicken).
Beyond Fried Chicken will be available as part of a combo meal along with Secret Recipe Fries and a medium drink. You can also buy it a la carte in six and 12-piece orders. Prices start at $6.99 (may vary) and each order comes with a choice of dipping sauce(s), which include Honey BBQ, Ranch, Honey Mustard, and KFC Sauce.
KFC first tested a version of Beyond Fried Chicken in August 2019 on a short, very-limited run in Atlanta, GA. They tend expanded the test to select restaurants in Nashville and Charlotte in earl 2020 and then, later that summer, offered a "sneak peak" at select locations in Southern California.
