While both chains have offered chili cheese menu items before, the new menu features a new "thick and hearty chili made with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, peppers, chilis, and a perfect blend of spices." The chili is featured in the Chili Cheese Star burger and Chili Cheese Fries.
The Chili Cheese Star features a charbroiled beef patty topped with new chili, American cheese, crispy-fried onion rings, and mustard on a toasted sesame seed bun. The suggested price at Hardee's is $4.49, while the suggested price at Carl's Jr. is $5.29. A double patty version is also available for $5.49 at Hardee's and $6.49 at Carl's Jr.
Carl's Jr. and Hardee's Chili Cheese Fries consists of natural-cut French fries topped with new chili and shredded cheese. At Hardee's, it's priced at $2.49, while it's $2.79 at Carl's Jr.
