The breakfast sandwich goes for $3.59 in my area, but I received this courtesy of Wendy's.
With two layers of hot honey sauce, my Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit stuck to the wrapper a fair bit, and I got some sticky fingers as I ate it.
Taste-wise, the hot honey sauce offered a mild honey flavor with a fruity note (from the habanero peppers and a combination of mango, banana, tomato, tamarind, and papaya purees) as well as a vinegary tang and moderate dose of spicy heat.
The chicken itself was just slightly moist but nicely crispy. The filet offered good end-to-end biscuit coverage with a decent, even thickness. The seasoning on it was fairly plain and mild.
The biscuit was super crispy with a slightly moist, soft, and crumbly interior and an enjoyable, slightly buttery flavor.
With only a few components, Wendy's Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit offered a purer expression of their new hot honey sauce, which makes it my preferred choice over their Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (which was much too busy for my tastes). It's pretty enjoyable if you like their Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit and don't mind more of a fruity note and some heat.
