There's $16.99 for a box of 16 Minis near me but I received these courtesy of Krispy Kreme.
Krispy Kreme's Filled Spring Minis come in four varieties:
- New Mini Chocolate Egg Donut - A mini shell donut filled with chocolate Kreme, dipped in chocolate icing, and drizzled with sky-blue and yellow icing stripes.
- New Mini Cake Batter Egg Donut - A mini shell donut filled with cake batter Kreme, drizzled with three sky-blue stripes, and dipped in mini pastel nonpareils sprinkles.
- New Mini Strawberries & Kreme Egg Donut - A mini shell donut filled with white Kreme, dipped in strawberry icing, and sprinkled with pastel sequins.
- Mini Chick Donut - A mini shell donut filled with white Kreme, dipped in yellow icing, then half dipped in white sanding sugar, and decorated like a chick with yellow, orange, and chocolate icing.
In previous years, Krispy Kreme's normal-sized donuts got the spring/Easter treatment but the Minis started getting in on the act in 2020 and they've advance the trend this year by adding going with mini shell donuts with fillings (last year's selection [and the year before] consisted of two mini ring donuts and an unfilled mini shell donut).
There's not much new here in terms of flavors (but that's typical of the chain's spring donuts) but the mini donut are pretty cute. I particularly like the mini nonpareils on the Mini Cake Batter Egg Donut (also they're roughly the same size as eggs).
The drawback of the Minis is that they tend to dry out faster than the normal-sized donuts (on the other hand, you can eat them much faster...).
