According to Doritos, the new flavor draws inspiration from Hispanic, Asian, and Indian dishes.
Tamarind is a tangy (and sometimes sweet) fruit that can be found in some familiar sauces such as Worcestershire and HP sauces. In Indian dishes, it popular as in chutneys and curries, while in Mexico, it's popular for making candy.
Doritos Tangy Tamarind-flavored tortilla chips can be found now at select retailers for a limited time with a wider, nationwide launch starting August 15, 2022.
