Australia Gets Its Own Coffee Drink, "The Australiano," from McDonald's

McDonald's gives Australia its own, new McCafe coffee drink, "The Australiano," for a limited time over in Australia.

McDonald's The Australiano features espresso and steamed milk mixed with chai tea powder and native Australian wattleseed.

Wattleseed is an edible seed that is a native Australian food. More recently, it has seen additional culinary uses by chef and home cooks in the country. It's described as having a "chocolate, coffee, hazelnut" flavor profile and lends itself well to ice cream, sauces, and various baked goods.

The Australia-centric drink makes sense as the country was where McDonald's first introduced the McCafe concept in 1993.
