Oscar Mayer Puts Out New Hot Dog-Flavored Ice Pop in Four Cities

Oscar Mayer partners with Popbar, a chain that makes frozen dessert and gelato on a stick, to introduce the new, limited-time Cold Dog, a hot dog-flavored ice pop, at select Popbar locations in Long Beach, New York City, Alpharetta-Atlanta, and New Orleans, while supplies last.

Apparently, the concept came about due to Oscar Mayer's "Stupid or Genius" campaign, which looked at "wonderfully odd" ways to enjoy a hot dog beyond grilling. According to Oscar Mayer, a social media debate determined that "while a cold hot dog may be polarizing, tens of thousands of fans relished the idea of a hot dog-flavored frozen pop and crowned the Cold Dog 'genius,'" so they went and made one.

The Oscar Mayer Cold Dog offers "smoky, umami notes" of an Oscar Mayer wiener finished with a swirl of "mustard." They're available at select Popbar locations for $2 each.
