The Pesto Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich comes with either a hand-breaded, crispy-fried, buttermilk chicken filet or chargrilled chicken filet served with fresh mozzarella, pesto mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes on a toasted Signature Potato Bun.
The price for the hand-breaded chicken filet version is $6.99, while the chargrilled chicken version is $8.29.
The items were spotted by BrandEater Kevin, who tried the chargrilled version and shared the following thoughts:
"Between the pesto and cheese, I found the sauce to provide the majority of the flavor though it did not overwhelm. I actually would have preferred a pure pesto sauce for a stronger punch. The cheese was plain and unnoticeable. It could have been left out or replaced with something else. I think this sandwich would have been better if it had a more salty flavor. It was definitely lacking in that regard."
Kevin also spotted the Peaches and Cream Fried Pie being tested at the same location. The Peach and Cream Fried Pie is a deep-fried, turnover-style pie with a filling of peaches and cream cheese. It's currently on the menu at Carl's Jr.'s sister chain Hardee's so it looks like they're exploring adding it to the Carl's Jr. menu.
