Trader Joe's Pumpkin Blondie Brownies are spiced pumpkin blondies embedded with pecans and white chocolate chips and lightly drizzled with royal icing.
A 9-oz package was $4.49.
According Trader Joe's, these are meant to be rich, moist, and cake-like and, indeed, they are cake-like rather than the denser, gooey variety of blondies (which is what I tend to think of when I think "brownie" or "blondie"). As such, Trader Joe's Pumpkin Blondie Brownies (I'm not sure why they're not just called "blondies" since "brownies" typically refer to the chocolaty variety of the dessert), are very similar to pumpkin bread, which tends to be moist and cake-like due to the additional moisture from pumpkin.
The blondie portion of the dessert was fairly airy and moist, although the end pieces were a bit dry. It was fairly lightly sweetened with a prominent spiced flavor to go with the mellow pumpkin notes.
The pecan pieces and white chocolate chips added an occasional light crunch with the white chocolate chips also contributing a creamy, rich, sweetness when encountered.
The royal icing (an icing of egg whites and sugar) was pretty sparse on top and offered a slight sweetness.
Overall, Trader Joe's Pumpkin Blondie Brownies turned out to be a nice, moist pumpkin cake-type dessert with a notable dose of pumpkin spice but didn't really stick out from the numerous loaves of pumpkin bread you can find around this time of year despite its "blondie" billing.
