Taco Bell's Salsa Verde Grilled Chicken Burrito features grilled, marinated, white-meat chicken served with seasoned rice, green sauce (AKA salsa verde), reduced-fat sour cream, and three-cheese blend wrapped inside a warm flour tortilla.
The burrito carries a suggested price of $2 but costs $2.99 at my local Taco Bell.
They grilled my burrito pretty nicely on both sides for extra bit of toasty flavor and crispness.
The green sauce seemed different from the Salsa Verde they previously offered (which was mostly just tangy and salty), there's still a tanginess to it from the tomatillos but there's a good deal more flavor behind it as well as a bit more heat than I remember (which is to say, a mild heat where I don't remember there being any before).
Beyond the green sauce, the grilled chicken offered a moderately seasoned flavor. Less apparent flavors came from the sour cream, cheese, and rice.
As far as construction goes, my burrito offered mostly well-spaced ingredients except for at one end that was mostly just sour cream and tortilla. The general shape was a little flat but there was adequate filling for the price (for the most part, the rice seemed a bit sparse).
When it comes down to it, Taco Bell's Salsa Verde Grilled Chicken Burrito was nice enough and provided a different flavor profile from the typical Taco Bell fare--it's not necessarily better but it's different and potentially more interesting as a result.
