A 10-oz container costs about $4.99 but I received this courtesy of Doritos.
This tastes a lot like Frito Lay's Jalapeno Cheddar-flavored cheese dip to me but with a stronger dose of spicy heat to it. The heats hit me straight away rather than the slow build of the Frito Lay version.
Interestingly, the Spicy Nacho Doritos Dip lists jalapeno peppers before cheese or milk in the ingredients (which means there's more jalapenos in the dip than cheese or milk) and there's a definite jalapeno flavor to it to go with an enjoyable nacho cheese flavor.
Texture-wise, the dip was smooth and thick--it clung very well to my tortilla chips. It's emulsified fairly well and takes a few days before it starts to separate.
The container is microwaveable, which is very convenient for warming. It also has a wide mouth so that you can pretty much dip most foods into it as you prefer (my nephew decided that pizza was the way to go with it, which wouldn't be my preference, but he liked it). The size makes it more suitable for parties than snacking on your own though.
Overall, I found myself taking quite a liking to Spicy Nacho Doritos Dip as it makes for a nice nacho cheese sauce with a moderately spicy kick. If you're looking for something more along the lines of queso, you might not like it as much though as it more of like canned or gas station nacho cheese (it lists water and oil as the first two ingredients).
