Doritos Sweet & Tangy BBQ-flavored tortilla chips offer the crunch and flavor of Doritos corn tortilla chips with the a sweet and tangy BBQ flavor.
A 9.25-oz bag goes for a suggested price of $5.59 but I received this courtesy of Doritos.
Opening the bag released a fairly standard BBQ chips aroma along with the underlying smell of fried corn tortilla.
Where BBQ-flavored potato chips tend to be orange, Doritos Sweet & Tangy BBQ are yellow speckled with reddish brown. Now that I think about it, should they be both be reddish to represent BBQ sauce?
Flavor-wise, the chips are worth of the name, as there's strong sweet and tangy flavors to go with a lesser notes of smoke and just a touch of spicy heat.
Overall, Doritos Sweet & Tangy BBQ-flavored tortilla chips turned out pretty well with a traditional BBQ chip-type flavor pushed just slightly further in the sweet and tangy direction. It might just be that I'm just used to BBQ-flavored potato chips but BBQ-flavored tortilla chips strike me as just a bit weird.
