A 10-oz container costs around $5 but I received this courtesy of Doritos.
Compared to most ranch sauce that I've come across, Doritos Dip Cool Ranch Jalapeno was quite thick and a little heavy but was easy to scoop up. It clung to the potato chips I ate it with really well and didn't really drip.
Flavor-wise, Doritos Dip Cool Ranch Jalapeno wasn't all that ranch-dressing-like. While it had the herby notes of ranch, it's not all that tangy. Instead, it's pretty jalapeno-forward (which makes sense, as the first three ingredients are water, oil, and jalapenos) but with only a mildly spicy heat to it. There's also a slight cheesy note to it.
Overall, Doritos Dip Cool Ranch Jalapeno was pretty enjoyable to eat but was more of a creamy jalapeno dip tinged with ranch seasoning than something I would consider a ranch dip. It still goes really well with potato chips though and keeps fairly well in the fridge without much lost of texture or consistency.
