The pizza costs $6.99 but I received this courtesy of Little Caesars.
Since I last reviewed the pizza back in 2014, it looks like they've switched out white cheddar and yellow cheddar, which didn't seem to affect the taste of the pizza any but did give it more of a mottled orange surface on top.
The pretzel crust offered a darker hue compared to the pizza I tried previously but still had just a mild pretzel flavor to it. Still, it was nice enough to make for a soft pretzel breadstick at the end of each slice. There was plenty of pretzel salt on the crust and it was especially salty where the end crust meets the pizza toppings, as any stray or loosened salt tended to fall into the slight border between. I enjoyed eating the pizza a lot more when I brushed off most of pretzel salt.
The topped pizza portion felt a bit like a fairly rich, grilled cheese sandwich but minus most of the crunch from toast, as the crust was mostly soft, fairly airy, and slightly chewy with only light crisping here and there. (I got the crunch back by reheating the leftover slices on a cast iron pan.) The pepperoni mostly added a salty meatiness and a slight smokiness.
While it's been a good number of years since, I remember thinking that the Pretzel Crust Pizza from 2014 was pretty salty as a whole, but this time around I found it pretty moderate in terms of salt and therefore more enjoyable for it (except for the end crust, which was plenty salty and then some). It felt like the cheese sauce in particular was much less salty, which also made it feel richer.
Overall, Little Caesars Pretzel Crust Pizza turned out really well. As I mentioned above, it felt like a buttery, grilled cheese sandwich with pretzel breadsticks--both of which were tasty.
