The campaign marks the second time that Taco Bell has asked Taco Bell Rewards members to choose one of two discontinued menu items to bring back to the menu. The first in-app fan vote was last fall when the Enchirito beat out the Double Decker Taco.
The Beefy Crunch Burrito (you can find my review of it here) features seasoned beef, Fritos Flamin' Hot Corn Chips, reduced-fat sour cream, seasoned rice, and warm nacho cheese sauce, wrapped up in a warm flour tortilla. It was first introduced in 2010 but discontinued in 2011. However, it's been brought back a number of times on a limited-time basis (the last time was in 2018).
The Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco (you can find my review of it here) was first launched in 2013 and features a taco shell seasoned with Doritos Cool Ranch flavor and filled with seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce, and shredded cheddar cheese. It was discontinued in 2019 and hasn't been seen since.
The results of in-app voting will be announced on April 13, 2023 and the winning menu item will be brought back to the menu for a limited time at participating locations nationwide in late 2023. You can vote daily through the Taco Bell app.
