It cost me $4.99 for an 8-piece order (but I actually got 9 because two pieces were stuck together).
KFC Chicken Nuggets come packaged like Chick-fil-A Chicken Nuggets in a comically small version of their regular, rectangular meal box. The box was pretty full though.
In addition to the similar packaging, KFC Chicken Nuggets offer a similar size to the nuggets as well as well as a somewhat similar feel to the breading.
The breading of the KFC Chicken Nuggets was fairly thin and only lightly crispy at parts. Flavor-wise, it's salty with the familiar hints of the Colonel's 11 herbs and spices. However, the Original Recipe seasoning seemed a bit lighter than you get with their regular fried chicken and took on being dipped in sauce nicely.
The chicken inside was fairly juicy and tender. Compared to the Popcorn Chicken that the Nuggets are replacing, they present a meat-to-breading ratio that skews in favor of the chicken rather than the other way around.
If you've never tried KFC Sauce, it's basically a mayo-based sauce with sweet, tangy, and savory notes as well as a bit of smokiness. It's a bit similar to Chick-fil-A sauce.
Taken altogether, KFC Chicken Nuggets work out quite well if you've been hoping for a boneless Original Recipe chicken (since their tenders only come in Extra Crispy) as they offer that distinctive flavor but are still neutral enough for dipping. They could stand to be crispier but KFC's Original Recipe Fried Chicken isn't all that crispy either.
