I bought the 6-oz pie for $2.99 on sale.
The crust was flaky and crispy but also really dry. The box included microwave crisping material in both the dish and the box (which seems to be fairly standard for pot pies nowadays).
Interestingly, the crust was fairly thick and sturdy and you can actually lift the pie out of the dish to each it by hand (which makes sense as Boomerang's pies are inspired by Aussie meat pies). I'm used to eating pot pies out of the dish with a fork or spoon.
The filling was lightly salty with a savory, herbed flavor. There were small cuts of beef and potatoes in the thick gravy but the gravy lacked richness. The meat-to-potato ratio skewed a bit heavily towards the potatoes (that might be true of most frozen pot pies but maybe the variety of the veggies makes it seem less so in other pies).
Overall, Boomerang's Steak and Potato Pie was somewhat ho-hum in my book. I generally like steak and potatoes but the flavor was overly plain here.
