It costs $7.99 near me but, for a limited time, you can get it on Mondays for $5 using the BK app (but you can also get a regular Whopper for $3 on Wednesdays). A regular Whopper is also $7.99 in my neighborhood.
No surprises here... the special red bun tasted and felt the same as the regular sesame seed bun of a Whopper. It even had the same dry crust rather than the sheen that adorns most premium burger buns these days. It was decently moist, soft, and squishy inside but was not fragile.
The Swiss cheese was nicely melted but was more than a little off-center so that it covered less than three quarters of the underlying beef patty. It looked to be of the processed variety and was good for a mild creaminess and not much else. American cheese would have actually offered a little more flavor.
The onions added a sharp bite and crunch, and the tomatoes were firm and fresh. The lettuce was middling but still crisp. The pickles weren't too sour and had a nice crunch. The ketchup and mayo combination contributed a tangy sweetness and light creaminess.
The beef patty had a moist beefiness and lacked the extra flavor and smoke you might expect from flame-grilling.
Overall, Burger King's Spider-Verse Whopper was enjoyable enough as Whoppers go but was rather uninteresting otherwise (unless you're really chuffed at getting a red bun).
