The ice cream cone felt a bit smaller than a typical sundae cone and you get a bit less ice cream as the butter cookie cone is fairly thick compared to a standard sugar cone.
Beyond just the general thickness of the cone, it's also fairly hard and dense (to keep it from crumbling like a butter cookie normally would) with a bit of a powdery texture to it. It might be due to the cold but the cone was only slightly buttery and lightly sweet.
The strawberry ice cream was dense and creamy with a fairly mild strawberry flavor. It held a core of raspberry sauce in addition to the swirls of the same sauce on top.
The raspberry sauce added a fruity tang and sweetness with a slightly gel-like texture.
The cookie pieces were soft and chewy with a bit of brown sugar flavor to them, while the white chocolate curls were creamy and rich with a smooth and melty texture.
A thin layer of milk chocolate lined the inside and top edge of the butter cookie cone. There was also a sizeable deposit of chocolate at the end of the cone. The chocolate works as a protective layer to keep the cone dry against any moisture from the ice cream within.
Taken altogether, Haagen-Dazs' Strawberry Ice Cream Butter Cookie Cone provided an enjoyable variety of complementary tastes and textures. I especially liked the raspberry sauce and white chocolate curls. The Butter Cookie Cone was just okay for me as the flavor was muted and I didn't love the slightly powdery quality of it. I'm not sure I'd pick it over a sugar or waffle cone.
