Looking at the ingredients, the Ghost Pepper Sauce here seems to be different than the Ghost Pepper Ranch Sauce found on the new Ghost Pepper Ranch Chicken Sandwich. Regardless, the Ghost Pepper Sauce on the fries appeared to be more oil-heavy as it coated and soaked into the fries with an orange tinge rather than just sitting atop the fries.
In flavor, the sauce was moderately spicy with a savory, ranch-like herby quality to go with a touch of sweetness. The spicy heat offered a gradual build up that leveled out with some decent staying power.
The fries held up very well against the Ghost Pepper Sauce and remained crispy from start to finish. They offered the requisite fried potato flavor with a sturdy structure.
Overall, Wendy's Ghost Pepper Fries turned out really well. I was surprised at the resilient crispiness of the fries and, while the sauce was quite oily, it was good for a pleasant mix of spicy and herby with just a little bit of sweet.
